The industry has been experiencing a year on year revenue drop of -6.5%. Magazine advertising expenditure in the UK in 2023 was £503.3 million with a continuing decline expected in 2024 and 2025.

As of 2023, the magazine publishing industry employed almost 30,000 people, within companies primary focused on magazine publishing. In 2024, there were over 2200 magazine publishing businesses in the UK.
